Who Are We?

MyDrive Solutions is a rapidly growing company providing the ability to understand the skill levels of a car driver in undertaking the extremely complex task of driving a car on the UK’s congested road network.

We monitor driving behaviour on a second-by-second basis, and deploy industry leading analysis to determine exactly how capable the driver is, in real time, and on an ongoing basis.

Importantly, we have a European patent (pending), protecting our unique ability to contextualise individual behaviour to the road network. In short, this allows us to understand the road topography that the driver is interacting with, and therefore to understand what the driver should be doing at all points on the road, to determine the appropriateness of their driving (e.g. is the driver approaching a road junction at too high a speed, or cornering at an inappropriate speed?)

This information can be utilized in many ways, from self-improvement to achieve better fuel efficiency, to proving driving capability, and therefore risk profile, to an insurance company, to a parent ensuring that their child is driving in a safe and sensible manner.

Our key focus is the insurance industry. Until now, insurers have been forced to consider risk on the basis of proxies for behaviour, since it has hitherto been impossible to actually observe behaviour. There is statistical validity in using such proxies, but this is based on averaging a pool of drivers; there are many drivers who share the pooled characteristics (occupation, age, marital status etc) but who do drive in a different manner to that pool. Our capability allows the insurer to largely ignore the “old proxies”, and focus instead on what is really important, which is how the driver drives, not how the statistics suggest he ought to drive.
